The McNair Cougars, the #1 seed in the Harrison Girl’s High School Summer Volleyball League, edged Payne Tech in the Championship playoff game 2-1 to win the summer title. McNair survived a scare from the Kearny Kardinals in their semi-final match who pushed the Cougars to three sets as well as a 15-13 final set.
#3 Payne Tech upset the host and #2 seeded Harrison Blue Tide in another thrilling preliminary semi-final match-up. Despite being outscored for the match, Payne prevailed in the first and third sets by scores of 26-24 and 16-14. Payne grabbed the second set in the Championship match but fell just short in the grand finale 15-10.

Congrats to the Cougars who finished the summer schedule at 18-4 and their first Harrison Summer League Championship.
Regular Season Final Standings

The Boys Championship is slated for Thursday night and will pit Harrison against Kearny in one semi-final and North Bergen and Union in the other.
