Let’s jump right in on tonight’s schedule…
Emma Fowler powered Bogota past Mary Help of Christians today, posting 16 kills in a straight set win. It broke a two game losing streak for the Buccaneers (can’t remember the last time we said that). Kaelee Zuniga had 26 assists and Isabella Cruz added 6 kills to improve Bogota’s record to 6-3. Friday, the Bucs take on #1 IHA.
Kingsway surprised Washington Township today as MacKenzie Layton slammed 7 kills and lifted 9 digs in the Dragon three set win. Kingsway is now 7-3 and remains in the hunt for the Tri-County title.

DIG-LEADERS-092823Lenape got back on track, after dropping their second loss of the season (Paul VI) this past week, by rocking rival Cherokee in straight sets. Lenape is now 10-2.
Dayton squeezed by Linden in three sets in a key Union County battle. After losing the opening set, the Bulldogs, paced by Kate Sousa’s 8 kills and 3 aces, and Meghan Kreinberg’s 7 kills and a block, fought back to win sets 2 and 3 and improve to 6-3.
The trio of Molly Regulski, Jessica Smart and Jordyn Hamlin paced Southern to an important Shore conference victory over Central Regional. The Rams improved to 13-0 as they prep for their visit to IHA this Saturday where #1 will face #2. It’s a must see game whether tuning in on the feed or going in person and leads the schedule of “Showdown Saturday”.
Other blockbuster match-ups on Saturday’s schedule are Paul VI vs Washington Township, Donovan Catholic vs St. John Vianney, Princeton vs Northern Highlands, and St. Mary’s Rutherford vs. Park Ridge.
Woodbridge continued their stellar season with a straight set win over the Mother Seton Setters today. Woodbridge only has one loss this season at the hands of WWPS and are now 8-1. Ashley Torok has been leading the attack, junior Kylie Rackett has been orchestrating the offense at setter, and sophomore Lina Cateriano has been amazing on defense. They remain undefeated in the GMC.
A huge rivalry game today as St, Mary’s (Ruth) took on Rutherford. St Mary’s has been riding high this season with a bundle of infused talent from Lodi Immaculate transfers and were ready for match. It took three sets, but St. Mary’s emerged on top with Sara Griesbauer firing 7 kills, Mia Gonzales smashing 7 aces, and Noelle Savonije putting back 4 big blocks. The Gaels are now 9-1.
