The West Essex Knights (6-2) delivered a statement performance with a resounding 25-13, 25-14 sweep over Montclair (3-5) in cross-divisional SEC action behind an absolutely dominant display from Natalia Baca. The junior sensation torched Montclair’s defense with 15 kills and an imposing 5 blocks, while Lola Halkias facilitated the attack with 19 assists to help the Knights amass 24 kills in just two sets. West Essex also received solid contributions from Emily Greczek with 4 kills, Ava Santana with 7 digs and 15 aces, and LeeAna Lojek with 2 kills as they controlled every aspect of the match from the opening serve.

Tenth-ranked Ramapo (6-0) maintained their perfect season with a commanding 25-18, 25-22 sweep over Wayne Valley (4-1) in non-conference Big North action. Sofia Guzman starred for the Patriots with 11 kills against Union Catholic and followed with 12 kills against Williamstown, while Sarah Veloz orchestrated both matches brilliantly with 17 and 19 assists respectively. Secaucus (8-2) demonstrated their rising status by controlling Union Catholic behind Elizabeth Aquino’s 2 blocks and Isabella Pablos’ solid play, then nearly upset unbeaten Williamstown (8-0) in a match that showcased their ability to compete with the state’s elite programs. Williamstown completed the tri-match sweep with a 25-18, 25-15 victory over Union Catholic (6-4) to maintain their perfect 8-0 record, though the Braves were pushed harder than expected by a Secaucus squad that appears ready to make noise in the postseason. Union Catholic struggled throughout the evening despite Alyssa Kenol’s consistent play with 9 kills against Secaucus and 6 kills against Williamstown, unable to match the intensity and execution of their opponents in this high-level showcase event.

Randolph (5-0) captured a convincing 25-22, 25-12 sweep over Mountain Lakes (4-3) in cross-divisional NJAC action to maintain their unblemished record. Regan Galloway paced the Rams with 10 kills, while Klara Hindson facilitated the offense brilliantly with 27 assists and Reese Nelson contributed 8 kills to help generate 17 total kills in the straight-set victory. Randolph also received solid contributions from Jazmine Holder with 8 digs and 6 aces, Kayla Nowlin with 6 digs, and Viki Katsanos with 5 aces as they controlled the tempo throughout both sets. Despite Victoriaria Norvak’s 3 kills and 5 digs and Abigail Dowling’s impressive 4 blocks for Mountain Lakes, the Lakers couldn’t match Randolph’s balanced attack and consistent execution in this quality cross-divisional matchup between two strong NJAC programs.

Gov. Livingston (5-3) pulled off a stunning upset over previously unbeaten Westfield (9-1) with a thrilling 26-24, 24-26, 25-22 comeback victory to even their UCC Watchung Division record at 4-3. Abby Kim delivered a phenomenal performance for the Highlanders with a match-high 22 kills and 12 digs, while Sierra Isbirian orchestrated the upset with an exceptional 34 assists and 12 digs in a masterful display of court leadership. Gov. Livingston also received crucial contributions from Briana Garro with 3 blocks, Mya Joseph with 7 digs, and Calista Chrysanthopoulos with outstanding defensive work including 27 digs as they accumulated 27 kills to edge Westfield’s 28. Despite a valiant effort from Ava Gaspard with 12 kills and 14 digs, Emelia Dengler with 11 assists, and Annelise Bonn with 2 blocks and 9 digs, Westfield suffered their first loss of the season and drops to 6-1 in conference play. The shocking defeat ends Westfield’s perfect start as Gov. Livingston celebrates their biggest victory of the season with remarkable resilience in a match that featured exceptional individual performances and dramatic momentum swings throughout all three sets.

Top-ranked Paul VI (7-0) demolished Shawnee (5-4) with a dominant 25-7, 25-7 sweep to maintain their perfect record and improve to 4-0 in Olympic Patriot Division play. The Eagles showcased their championship depth with Megan Evans leading with 5 kills, Maggie Carcillo distributing effectively with 11 assists and 7 aces, Khloe Greene-Gordon contributing 4 kills and 2 blocks, and Lyla Rossi adding 4 digs in a comprehensive team performance. Paul VI controlled every aspect of the match from the opening serve, accumulating 21 kills while completely neutralizing Shawnee’s offensive attack throughout both sets.
