After digesting thousand of data points, the NJP computer algorithm has issued it’s first computer ranking below for the NJ high school girl’s volleyball season. We are three weeks into the season and after 1,185 games for 336 teams, the sample size is significant enough for a 94% confidence level.
Paul VI and Williamstown are 1-2 in the ranking with defending #1 team in NJ Princeton close behind in third. They are separated by less than 1 rating point. Undefeated Old Bridge checks in at #4. The algorithm likes Secaucus and Tenafly who have multiple losses but secure a top 10 ranking.
18 teams remain undefeated after three full weeks of the season. 5 teams have yet to lose a set.
