Week four of the NJ high school season continues to heat up with some signature games near the top of the rankings. It’s one of the best times of the year as teams start to rev up and find out their potential.

Tonight, Paul VI took down Southern in Manahawkin solidifying NJP’s #1 ranking in NJ. Full story here… LINK

During that match, Maggie Carcillo reached 1,000 career assists. The dynamic setter was instrumental in tonight’s big win. Congrats Maggie.

An interesting article was launched tonight promoting dual sports recommendation for girl’s. We are hoping it will draw some current stellar athlete’s to consider volleyball as an option. More involvement in volleyball from star key athletes can continue to drive the quality of our sport in New Jersey even higher. Here is the LINK. All thoughts welcome.

Here are some recaps of other matches on Tuesday, 9/23/25…

Union Catholic (7-4) bounced back from recent struggles with a 25-21, 25-19 sweep over Monroe (6-3) in cross-conference action. Alyssa Kenol delivered an exceptional all-around performance with 7 kills and a remarkable 6 blocks, anchoring both the offensive attack and defensive front for the Vikings in their most complete performance in recent weeks. Sabrina Capati facilitated the balanced effort with 12 assists while adding 5 digs, and Sienna Mabee contributed 3 kills as Union Catholic accumulated 19 kills overall against Monroe’s defense. The victory represents a significant boost for Union Catholic as they continue working to solidify their position in the competitive UCC Watchung Division standings. Monroe drops to 6-3 overall.

13th-ranked Bogota (9-1) rallied from a set deficit to defeat Cliffside Park (4-6) with a 23-25, 25-16, 25-18 comeback victory in cross-conference action. Emma Fowler delivered a spectacular performance with 22 kills to power Bogota’s resurgence after dropping the opening set, while Nikole Alvarez orchestrated the attack with 20 assists and Keidy Rodriguez anchored the defense with 4 blocks in the three-set triumph. The serving battle proved decisive for Bogota who recorded 10 aces, with Fowler contributing 6 aces and Ariana Marchant adding 2 more to create constant pressure and disruption throughout the final two sets. Cliffside Park was unable to sustain their early momentum against Bogota’s relentless serving attack and Fowler’s dominant offensive display that totaled 33 kills for the match.

Kingsway (7-1) swept Camden Catholic (5-4) with a 25-19, 26-24 victory. Ava Patterson led the Dragons with 10 kills, while Sophie Park distributed effectively with 18 assists and Sofia Oravetz contributed 5 kills in the balanced attack that produced 16 kills overall. Camden Catholic dropped to 5-4 as Kingsway controlled the tempo from start to finish with their well-rounded team performance.

J.P. Stevens (8-3) captured a thrilling 23-25, 26-24, 26-24 comeback victory over Immaculata (5-3) in cross-conference action between two strong evenly matched programs. Tina Sehrawat orchestrated the comeback with 27 assists, while Aimee Han powered the attack with 11 kills and Gladys Diaz De la Rosa contributed 11 kills and 3 blocks as J.P. Stevens totaled 28 kills in the three-set triumph. J.P. Stevens found crucial momentum in the final two sets to overcome their opening-set deficit. Immaculata fought valiantly behind Reagan Kenney’s 10 kills, Avery Seltzer’s 25 assists, and Caroline Duffey’s solid 18 digs, accumulating 30 kills overall, but couldn’t sustain their early advantage against J.P. Stevens’ persistent offensive pressure and clutch execution in the decisive moments of both final sets.

Tomorrow’s schedule (Wednesday of week 4) has some key matches. Here are just some of the highlighted games on the slate:

Ramapo (6-0) put their unbeaten season on the line when the visit Jefferson (5-4). In Hudson County, Memorial (6-2) visits Bayonne (5-2). Pinelands (11-0) is home for Barnegat (5-4), Trinity Hall (6-4) heads to undefeated Holmdel (9-0), Atlantic Tech (4-3) hosts Hammonton (7-2), Mount Olive (5-2) visits 7-0 Madison, and MKA (6-4) heads to Verona (6-1). Also on the slate is a premium match between 7-3 Bridgewater Raritan and 5-3 Governor Livingston. We also think MSDA (3-4) hosting 7-2 West Essex will be a close contest. Lastly, Notre Dame (5-2) takes on 8-1 Northern Burlington.
