The New Jersey high school girls volleyball season has reached its crescendo, with division championships hanging in the balance, county tournaments just getting underway, and state playoff dreams still burning bright for teams across the Garden State. This is the time of year when every point matters, every match feels monumental, and the energy in gyms throughout New Jersey reaches a fever pitch. Players have worked since August for this moment, and now everything they’ve built together is on the line.

But amid the intensity and competitive fire, it’s easy to lose sight of what makes this time so special, particularly for our seniors. In the coming weeks, state playoff seeds will be determined, brackets will be set, and the path forward will become clear. Yet as the excitement continues to build, we must remember a sobering reality: many players will see their seasons, and for seniors, their high school careers, end in an instant. One final point, one last match, and suddenly it’s over.

This is why these next few weeks are about so much more than wins and losses. It’s a time to soak in every moment with the friends who have become family, to celebrate the journey that brought you here, and to create memories that will outlast any trophy. Take the pictures, share the laughs, embrace your teammates after every match, and hold onto the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself. Long after the final whistle blows, these are the moments you’ll carry with you forever.

Let’s focus on some accolodes and achievements from these past few days…

Holmdel is the Shore B North Divisional Champion. What a great season the Hornets are having and we look forward to seeing what they can accomplish in the Shore Tournament and in State Playoffs.
Bridgewater Raritan has earned the division title in the Skylands-Delaware and will share the achievement with Hunterdon Central, each with 7-3 records. It’s a major accomplishment for the Panthers who have not had a division title since 2009. Congrats to all!
Northern Burlington has won the BCSL Liberty Division going undefeated at 10-0 in league play in 2025. The Greyhounds are having a great season and stand at 15-4 overall.
Toms River East has a lot to look forward to next season with two of their star players returning. Juniors Katelyn Bell and Alexa Cruz reached some major milestones tonight with Katie smashing her 300th career kill and Alexa recording her 500th career assist. Looking forward to watching these Raiders in the playoff and in 2026.
At today’s 10/14 Del Val Volleyball match against Vernon, senior captain setter Maggie Simpson reached 1,000 career assists. Maggie currently holds the school record for career assists which she broke last season when she surpassed the previous record of 727 set in 2018. Maggie is the only athlete in Del Val history to reach 1,000 assists and also holds the single season assists record at 419 set in 2024 season. Additionally, she recently achieved 500 career digs and is quickly approaching 100 aces for her career. Fantastic accomplishments for this senior. Congrats #7 on a job well done.
Senior libero Isabella Matias of Mother Seton lifted her 700th career dig against North Brunswick on senior night. The Setters are 16-2 on the season and Isabella has played a big part in that success. She is also approaching 100 aces for her career with 93 currently. Awesome job 18!

Many more faces added to the NJP Faces of NJ Volleyball page tonight… I think there is like a Bajillion up there so far this season. It might even be as much as a Kajillion plus one. It’s a lot anyway. You there yet?

Let’s see what the Tuesday night scoreboard looks like…
