March 3, 2020 – By NJP
We have reviewed the NJSIAA Boys Volleyball Classifications updated for 2020 season. Here is a recap of some new additions:

North 1
There appears to be just one addition to the North 1 section in 2020 as Paterson Charter Science and Technology joins. The Lions did not have a varsity program in 2019. Head Coach Mike Tully will bring a world of experience to this new program.
North 11

North 11 will pick up 4 teams in their section. Two schools had programs last season and were included as independents in NJP rankings for 2019; Marist and Hoboken Charter. The two new programs noted are the American History High School Eagles in Newark and the Malcolm X Shabazz High School Bulldogs in Newark.

Central
Central picks up one new school with the Burlington Township High School Falcons. Not to be confused with the Burlington City HS Blue Devils. Burlington Township did not have a varsity program last year.
South

The South is the most active with 6 new teams in the section. One team, Salem County Vocational Tech, had a program last season and was included in NJP rankings. We count 5 new programs in the South.

The Hammonton High School Blue Devils will now be in the section along with the Timber Creek High School Chargers. Triton Regional High School will also be part of the South section along with the Camden County Technical School in Pennsauken.

Highland Regional High School is the last school to join the south section. The Highland Regional High School mascot is, of course, Scotty the Tartan!
We wish all of these schools good luck as they enter the competitive landscape that “is” NJ High School Volleyball!
