Rutgers Newark continues to get stand-out performances from their star players. They have been playing the shortened Spring season with a much more limited roster but have made the most of their top core players who can compete with the best at the D3 level. The team is currently ranked #5 in the country.

The simplified schedule for 2021 resulted in limited games in each of the 2 conferences that RUN plays in. The match today against Kean was the first NJAC Championship match. Rutgers also plays in the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC).

Andrew Zaleck continued his dominance on the right side tallying 18 kills. With COVID, Andrew remains qualified as a freshman with the extra year of eligibility and along with setter Justin Tuohy will lead the next few years of success for the new NJ D3 Power. Outside Arvind Kumar hit .643 and put up 10 kills on the left side. Middle Danny Quay has been equally as dominant so far this season for the now 5-1 Scarlet Raiders. Quay had 6 kills and 4 blocks.

Rutgers and Kean will stay connected as their CVC schedules continue with 3 matches over the next 7 days. Rutgers will finish tthe regular season with 2 games against Immaculata. There is still the possibility that a CVC tournament and National Championship tournament will occur but we are all pending the final announcement.

Congrats to Coach Jack Wilson who has already accomplished so much in his short coaching career with the best yet to come.
