It’s Spring break week and there are a lot of early morning NJ boys high school volleyball games on the schedule today including some featured match-ups. Let’s see what the math says about some big games…

Central Regional is off to a great start this season and has earned a spot in the NJP top 50 teams. They will host the #1 team in NJ with the Rams from Southern Regional on the breakfast schedule. As solid as Central has been so far, the Rams just have way to much firepower. We expect a straight set Ram win. (25-18, 25-19). UPDATE: RAMS WIN 2-0 (25-14, 25-21)

CBA hosts the up and coming Middletown South Eagles. The Eagles started their sophomore season out winning 6 of their first 7 games. Winning in Lincroft is a big ask for this young squad. Junior Scott Molisani has anchored the middle for South and leads the team in kills and blocks. Seniors Kwapniewski, Sasso, Massaro and Scardino should drive the Colts to another win. CBA 2-0 (25-16, 25-16) RESCHEDULED TO 4/27

Randolph is building a solid program in Morris County and is taking another step forward this season. They have won 5 of their first 7 games and appear poised to rattle some feathers in the NJAC. The algorithm prefers Jefferson today who despite two losses through 5 games appear to be top 20 caliber. Falcons 2-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-20). UPDATE: JEFFERSON 2-0 (25-20, 25-23)

SPF travels to Colonia today and we expect them to continue their dominance. Colonia is a top 50 team in the NJP rankings but despite hosting the Raiders today, we expect a clear cut Raider win. SPF 2-0 (25-14, 25-16). UPDATE: SPF 2-1 (25-13, 18-25, 25-11)

A big battle in Hudson County as Kearny hosts St. Peter’s Prep. The traditional powers in the county are both yielding sub Top 20 ratings but it’s still early. The math likes the Kardinals in three sets 2-1 (25-21, 25-27, 25-19). UPDATE: KEARNY 2-0 (25-21, 25-19)

Two Skyland powers face off this afternoon with Hillsborough taking on Hunterdon Central. Both teams in the top 10 with Hunterdon dominating the past few years of match-ups. You have to go back to 2019 to find a win for Hillsborough in matches between these two teams, but every match has gone three sets. The algorithm gives Boro the slightest of edge to break the streak in a coin toss game. Hillsborough 2-1 (27-25, 24-26, 25-22). UPDATE: HILLSBOROUGH 2-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-20)
