9/11/2022
It’s so hard to believe it is 21 years later. For all of our current high school volleyball players, the attacks on 9/11 were before your time. But for many of us who were so close to the days events, it has left a permanent hole in our hearts. So on these anniversaries, it’s always a time to reflect and appreciate what we have, and appreciate the perspective that this momentous time in history has left for us.
I have always agreed with the concept that everything happens for a reason. I like to look at the positive things that this event created. There is so many. But the spirit that prevailed right after the event was unparalleled in my lifetime. We were all on the same side. It was a unifying event despite the horrific nature of the events that morning. The resiliency and the perseverance displayed is too soon forgotten.
I feel so honored to have been a part of that era. It’s so unfortunate that it took such a horrible event to build a sense of camaraderie that lasted years and years. But the world forgets as time goes on… for me, it is emblazoned in my soul. Some day I will have the courage to go to the 9/11 museum.
I have always loved these videos and have shared them before… but worth a few minutes of your time to help paint the picture of the time period, era, and event and the spirit that followed.
Never Forgotten…
