Former IHA standout Alyssa Lowther, who was one of the leaders of this Spring’s Immaculate Heart Academy’s 14 straight Sectional title, accomplished a stellar performance in her debut for Bates College. Bates took on Husson College in Bangor, Maine in the Bobcat’s opening match of the season. Bates prevailed 3-1 in the match, but it was Lowther’s performance that turned the most heads in Newman Gym on Tuesday night.

Lowther led all players with 13 kills and 6 aces while also contributing 3 blocks. Another Jersey product Emma Eide from Ramsey put up 25 assists, 7 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks, and 7 digs in the Bobcat’s win. Chrissy Chu, the freshman from Old Tappan, had 4 assists. These 3 players are high impact for Bates and the only NJ players on a 15 player squad.

Eide, a junior at Bates, achieved a wide variety of accolades at setter as a freshman in 2019. They are listed on the following link from Emma’s bio page on the Bates Volleyball website:

We can’t wait to see what these three New Jersey products can produce individually and as team contributors for the Bobcats.
