Greeting NJ Volleyball fans…
A very abbreviated blog tonight as most of our time was spent on the “Bracketology” page. That page is now live and will contain game scores, updates, and game recaps going forward for the state playoffs. You can access that page from the main menu or from this link… https://njpowerranking.com/njp-spring-girls-bracketology/
The “Accolades” continues to be filled up each night with new additions… You can check them out here… https://njpowerranking.com/accolades-nj-girls-high-school/
The Predictor finished the regular season tonight with one of its best performances of the season. NJP went 26-1 so far tonight with some pending games remaining. This week, we picked at a rate that exceeded 90%.
A big shoutout to the Ridge Red Devils as they win the Somerset County Tournament in straight sets over Hillsborough. Ryan Ganny was one of the games stars with 23 assists and Chelsea Tancredi had 8 kills, 7 digs and 3 aces for the Red Devils. Ridge is now 18-4 and will hit the ground running in the North 2, Group 4 state playoff grid.
North Hunterdon was taken to three sets today by Hunterdon Central in a great rivalry match-up. Both defenses were ready and kept so many balls up in the air with over 110 digs combined. Emily Wolters used her usual genius to spread the offense among 4 attackers, Colleen Russell, Tori Kuo, Elise Oertel, and Emma Murry. Grace Sollner had 11 kills for Hunterdon Central and Amanda Shirk added 9 kills, 2 blocks, and 13 digs in the loss. Great warmup for states for both teams.
Nice to see Kent Place use their entire roster tonight against Oak Knoll, even if it meant losing the second set. Would love to see more of this type of coaching across the state. And congrats to Oak Knoll for taking that set from one of only 4 NJ unbeaten teams.
