We wanted to give a shoutout to MacKenzie Teevan of the Holmdel Hornets. The 6’3″ sophomore and three season athlete is having an absolute breakout season at the shore. Holmdel has a very nice crew of young talent and a star to build around. They could be a force to reckon with next season as they lose just one senior varsity player. So hang in there Hornets… a bright future is on the horizon.

On tonight’s schedule:

Nice win by Wall today as they defeat Raritan in straight sets. Super night for Annette Morales who slammed 8 kills and posted 7 digs. Maxine Erlanger had 6 kills, 2 aces, and 10 digs while Ava Grant notched 22 assists. Wall improved to 4-2.

The Panthers of Bridgewater-Raritan pull a big upset tonight as they down North Hunterdon in three sets in the Skyland. You have to give it Nikki Blair in her senior season who orchestrated a solid game plan distributing the offensive attack brilliantly with 17 assists. She also added 4 kills, 2 aces, and 6 digs. Vasi Papanastasiou was brilliant with 9 kills, 10 digs, and 2 assists. Madison Patton and Isabel Rivera made major contributions as well on the attack and on the service line. Head Coach Corey Romanak has been motivating his team to bring this kind of effort for decades. No maybe not that big of a surprise.

Paul VI is now 8-0 after a straight set victory over Cherokee. The Eagles continue to fly high with solid momentum built from last season. The sky is the limit for this team in 2022.

Congratulations to Amanda Chambers of the Academy of Saint Elizabeth who surpassed 500 career assists in the Panther’s 2-1 win over Villa Walsh today. AOSE is off to a historic 8-0 start this season.

Amanda is joined in the photo by her Varsity teammates and Coach Andy Jacobs.

Olivia Bruno and Sydney Bruns had exceptional performances tonight as Madison improved to 9-1 on the season after taking down Hanover Park. Bruno had 5 aces, 6 kills and 6 digs while Bruns had 17 assists, 2 aces, 7 digs, 2 kills and a block. Madison again excelled on the service line with 13 overall aces in the 2 sets.

Colts Neck with another dominant performance today as the worked over Middletown South in straight sets. Maddy McSorley slid over to setter for the game and had 18 assists. Alex Foley with another great match slamming 8 kills and digging 12. Stacey Mancino led the Cougars with 4 aces.

St. Mary’s Rutherford with another impressive win today as they fend off Secaucus in an NJIC battle and improve to 7-1. Twelve aces for the Gaels, 7 from the Griesbauer sisters who also combined for 27 digs and 11 kills. Krystal Pozo led St. Mary’s with 7 kills.

Livingston is pouring it on and is now 10-0. They easily slashed past West Essex as both Anika Dhar and Nadia Khalaj had 9 kills. Big week coming up next week as they will face MSDA and MKA twice.

Vivian Roberts became only the 3rd female volleyball player in Summit history to cross the 300 kill mark and 5th player overall to do so. She did it on a career high night of 18 kills vs Kent Place.

Sophomore middle Caterina Carayannopoulos had a sensational match for the Blue Devils scorching 11 kills and pushing back 2 blocks. Chloe Wiedman, Caitlyn Cabrales, and Guiliana Gallo had 12 digs each. Abby Pevzner and Ally Muller had 6 kills each and Cabrales added 8.
