The table is set for tomorrow. A State Champion will be crowned tomorrow at South Brunswick High School. And another Boys high school volleyball season will be in the books.
It has been an amazing year. The world continues to change, even in the 8 weeks since opening night in April. Considering one of the finalist Old Bridge, and many other high school teams, had a two week delay to their season due to COVID protocol, we are all counting our blessings that we had a season and it was a full year of some really great high school volleyball. For the 148 teams that are watching the final and the two that are playing in it, let’s all learn from the lessons this season has taught us. It has shown us that nothing in life is certain. We all gained perspective during a time when when we did not know if we would have a chance to play. We have all gained the appreciation for having played, whether we won or lost. High School sports has so many more life lessons than what the scoreboard says at the end of the game.
We have run all of the analysis and it’s a dead heat for tomorrow’s game. If we could pick the game to be a tie, we would. Southern and Old Bridge are both outstanding teams and will finish #1 and #2 in the NJP Overall State final rankings. We expect this to go three sets. The rating formula has Southern ahead by 6/100th of a rating point.
Here is the last Predictor selection of the boys season: Southern over OB 22-25, 26-24, 27-25
Here is the final summary of our game selections. The NJP Predictor maintained an 86.4 winning percentage. Some interesting notes: Monday, by far, was the worst day of the week for the Predictor coming in at 79.6%. We went the entire year with out making a losing prediction on a Saturday (25-0). Tuesday to Saturday selections were at 88.6%.

Congrats to all of our NJP Clip of the Year winners. And thanks to everyone that participated.
NJP End of Year Awards will be posted over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
Now that the boys season will be concluding, we would love to hear from our fans on the things you liked or did not like on the site. If you have ideas on how we can make the site better, just drop us an email at njpowerranking@gmail.com.
