UPDATE July 29, 2021 – By NJP
The Olympic games have been progressing over this past week and volleyball and beach volleyball have not disappointed. For those of you like NJP who stay up at night until the wee hours of the morning, it has been entertaining and filled with excitement for both men’s and women’s, indoor and beach.
Our USA teams have been performing amazingly well and have been a pleasure to watch. We may see some Gold coming our way but there is still a long way to go.
For the Indoor teams, Pool play is about midstream. You can see updated records of all the teams in the grid below. Pool play continues through the weekend and into the beginning of next week. For our Beach fans, Pool Play will be concluding on Saturday with “Lucky Loser” final matches to see which teams that finished third in the pools will advance. So, we will have our first round results by Saturday night. On the beach side of things, Coach Dan Sempkowski, NJP, and Aidan Apito appear to have the inside track thus far but Josh Wilets and Sarah Wilcock are still close enough to make a statement by Saturday. Stay tuned.
For the hard court, Aidan Apito appears in the best shape on the men’s side and Josh Wilets looks a head up on the Women’s group thus far. But there is still a long way to go, especially with 9 contestants and half the games left.
Here is the updated grid…
