Another great summer league program run by Harrison Rec and Harrison High School. Many thanks to Coach Anthony Sabia for orchestrating the logistics and keeping the NJ Volleyball community informed by sharing this information with us. It’s greatly appreciated.
The championship tournament went right down to the wire with super competitive games for the Gold as well as the Bronze. The St. Joe’s Falcons ultimately prevailed in the finale after the summer session that earned them a 19-1 record. It wasn’t easy as Kearny took the first set, but the Falcons battled back in to win set 2 and eventually set three by a score of 15-12.
The Bronze third place match pitted rivals Harrison and Bayonne against one another and these two teams battled to the final point with Harrison earning the slightest of victories 2-1 (23-25, 25-22, 15-13). It will be fun to watch these teams battle in Hudson county once again next Spring.
Congrats to the Falcons!! Winning Roster: Scotty Schmitt, Nick Drake, Aidan Thompson, Akshat Neerati, JT Gloster, Michael Weickum, and Bobby Ilycen. The St. Joe’s parents were classy as usual treating Harrison players and staff to a pizza party with them and their kids after the championship game.
