Greeting’s NJ volleyball fans…

Tonight was another huge night in the NJ volleyball community as the girl’s high school volleyball state tournament had its second day of first round matches. Our “Bracketology” page has all the updates for all the matches. You can access it here at https://njpowerranking.com/njp-spring-girls-bracketology/

Less upsets on the grid tonight but there will still a few takedowns. Most notably for us was Ramapo losing to Morris Hills. NJP went 25-5 on the bracket tonight and have a first round record of 45-10 or 82%. If you picked the highest seed in round 1, your record would have been 40-15. NJP remains ahead of the seeds by 5 games.

Here is the NJP recap…

Here is the record of the top seeds for Round 1:

Our Accolades page keeps filling up with more than a few per day so check them out and see the great accomplishments of our girl’s high school players at https://njpowerranking.com/accolades-nj-girls-high-school/

Our college commitment page for both girl’s and boy’s gets updated at least weekly. This is where you can help by sharing your or your teammates commits with us at njpowerranking@gmail.com. We post them once verified and communicate on these pages…. https://njpowerranking.com/home/news-posts-2/college-commitments/ and https://njpowerranking.com/college-commitments-girls/ or just go to the college menu and these are the first two items.

Nice article on Tenafly junior Sofia Bell posted yesterday. Link at https://njpowerranking.com/2021/10/28/teanecks-sofia-bell-finishing-impactful-junior-season/ Tenafly got past Paramus in a great match tonight in the state tourney.

In other matches outside of the state tournament, Hudson Catholic lost it’s first game of the season to Westfield. Both sets were 25-17. Not sure what to read into this one as a pre-amble to the state tournament but we are sure the Hawks would have loved to enter the non-public grid undefeated. Another nice win for Westfield who has been left in the shadow of Kent Place all year in the UCC.

Northern Highlands and Glen Rock battled in a tight two set match won by Highlands. The Highlanders have a very tough road ahead of them in their state bracket and will face Tenafly next and then a good possibility of meeting Roxbury after that… very rough road.

SPF downed Governor Livingston today and remains red-hot. For a team that started 1-6 to be in the position they are now at 12-8 and getting the 12 seed Morris Hills in the quarter final round is remarkable. Of course North Hunterdon will most likely stand in their way in a semi-final but it’s been a very nice run and turnaround for them.

Two massive county tournament finals tomorrow as Demarest puts it’s undefeated record on the line against Ridgewood in the Bergen County tournament championship match. And the Morris County tournament championship is up for grabs when Mendham takes on Roxbury. These are two of NJ’s most competitive counties and they have the feel of TOC matches. It will be time to rock and roll… Good luck to all 4 teams!! NJP favors Demarest and Mendham.

For those of you who may not have been able to access the complete scoreboard tonight, here is a recap…
